Dr. Chen was awarded his MD and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Chen completed his Clinical Pathology Residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard Medical School where he was selected as the Chief Resident. Dr. Chen was awarded the 2000/2001 Bayer Diagnostic Research Award from the College of American Pathologists Foundation and was named the College’s 2001 Research Scholar. Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Clinical Pathology and holds medical licensures in Massachusetts and Florida. Dr. Chen currently serves as an inspector for the College of American Pathologists Clinical Laboratory Accreditation Program. In biomedical research, Philip has directed several clinical and basic scientific studies, received several awards including the Paul Strandjord young Investigator’s Award from the Academy of Clinical and Laboratory Physicians and Scientists. He has authored many papers in peer-reviewed biomedical journals. Locally, he serves on the Healthcare and Biotechnology Committee at Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission. He has also been a biotechnology research consultant for several Wall Street investment bankers. Philip secured the initial funding for Cognoscenti. |

Dr. Bry received an MD and a Ph.D in Molecular Microbiology and Pathogenesis from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Bry is the founder and director of Mad Scientist Network, an internet-based Ask-A-Scientist service which has received prominent recognitions by the journal Science, Popular Science magazine, the US Department of Education and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The Mad Scientist Network site as also nominated for the 2000 Webby Award in Science. Dr. Bry has been a consultant to the US Department of Education concerning the use of the Internet for science education and has spoken before members of the Office of Science & Technology Policy and the US Library of Congress concerning the establishment of distributed expert systems. Dr. Bry is currently the Associate Medical Director in Microbiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School where she had previously served as Chief Clinical Pathology Resident. Dr. Bry was awarded a Howard Hughes Research Fellowship for Physicians and currently maintains an active research program in molecular immunology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Recently she was named the recipient of 2001 Young Scientist Achievement Award from American Association of Clinical Chemists. Lynn oversees the strategic planning of Cognoscenti’s Information Technology development. |

Richard is a native Floridian and began his career as a Branch Manager with National Health Laboratories in Southwest Florida. By the late 80's he was promoted to General Manager and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and tasked with managing a $40 million annual operation with 350+ employees. Later, he was further promoted to Regional Director and managed the consolidation of three business units which constitute as part of LabCorp today. In 1997, he was recruited by Columbia HCA and MDS, Inc as CEO for a 16-hospital / Core Laboratory operation in Atlanta, Georgia. Now back at home, Richard directs Cognoscenti's strategic operation planning with a focus on marketing and business development throughout the eight-county area in Central Florida. |

As a Partner with Woodbury Partners and Associates, Neil has more than twenty years experience in business operations, corporate finance, information technology and business development. Most recently, Neil was founder, Exec. V.P. and CFO for a $50 million in sales VC financed start-up. Prior to that, he held various positions for a $350 million in sales publicly held company, including V.P. for Business Development. Neil provides operations improvement and IT consulting services when he's not in the middle of one or more deals, on either the buy side or the sell side. He is currently the chief operations consultant for Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Clinical Laboratories at Harvard. Neil and consultants from Woodbury Partners provide many of Cognoscenti’s operation and business planning needs. |

Maryann has over ten years of management experience in several prominent commercial clinical and toxicology laboratories including Quest Diagnostics and American Medical Laboratories. She was responsible for production deadlines, development and implementation of standard operation procedures, budget, customer service, courier support and off-site patient service centers. Maryann has extensive knowledge of all laboratory regulatory issues and is an inspector for College of American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation Program. |
